Vinfolio Announces Launch of the Vinfolio Marketplace

) May 20, 2009 -- Vinfolio, the foremost fine wine and collector services company, today announced the launch of the first phase of the Vinfolio Marketplace, a fine wine online marketplace for buying and selling the aggregated contents of privately owned cellars. The Vinfolio Marketplace integrates Vinfolio's cutting-edge wine store with VinCellar, its innovative online cellar management application, enabling access to the $500+ million in wine managed by VinCellar users. The ability to offer hundreds of thousands of unique items for sale positions the Vinfolio Marketplace to quickly become the world's largest fine wine marketplace.

"We've made it easier than ever for individuals to buy and sell fine wine," says Steve Bachmann, Vinfolio founder and CEO. "VinCellar users simply mark wine in their VinCellar accounts for sale and wait for bids from buyers shopping in the Vinfolio wine store. There are no listing fees, minimums, or time constraints as the seller simply accepts a bid whenever the price reaches the desired level." Vinfolio Marketplace transactions are anonymous with all wine passing through Vinfolio for inspection. Sellers may accept a bid for wine still in their possession and then ship to Vinfolio or sell wine already in Vinfolio's full-service storage facility. Selling fees will be as low as 15% and no buyer's premium will be charged.

As a first phase, VinCellar users can now mark wines for sale directly from their online accounts. The Vinfolio Marketplace opens for bids starting in early July 2009 as part of the Vinfolio ecommerce store. Vinfolio will also make its selling platform open to users of other cellar management applications and the trade, adding even greater supply and providing buyers access to more wine.
