Stratus Delivers Beta of API Management and Security Platform

) May 26, 2009 -- Stratus Security Technologies is set to deliver the first beta version of its Stratus Platform, a cloud computing API (application programming interface) management and security service, June 1. The company is inviting qualified companies to apply for a free, three-month trial of the new platform.

The Stratus Platform:
The Stratus Platform is a cloud computing API management service that gives companies the control, security and reliability needed to quickly build new business channels by opening their platforms via web services APIs.

The platform hosts a full suite of API capabilities including:

  • Management features such as reporting, billing, rate limiting and user provisioning
  • Security protection via the Stratus API Firewall with authentication and key issuance, XDoS protection, XML threat protection and client data segregation
  • Reliability of an enterprise-quality, scalable architecture built on best-of-breed technology and open standards.

The Stratus Platform operates in the cloud, serving as a proxy for companies' API requests. Inbound API requests are routed to Stratus, where they are secured and managed before being forwarded to customers' servers.

Customers use the Stratus Platform to decrease their time to market by deploying APIs quickly and to access the most up-to-date technology developed and maintained by domain experts. Stratus customers avoid the internal development costs of building their own solutions and reduce operational costs by tapping Stratus to manage API interactions with their developer communities and channel partnerships.

The Stratus Beta Trial:
Beta trial participants gain first-mover access to new API management features and services, priority input on upcoming features and services, and platinum-level deployment and support from Stratus engineers.

To qualify for the beta trial, companies should have an API in place or be in the process of deploying a REST-based API. In addition, companies should have specific security criteria for their APIs such as strong authentication, XML threat protection and data security.

To apply for the beta program, visit http://www.stratusec.com/betaProgram.html.
