Stone Edge Order Manager Leads in Customer Growth

) September 17, 2008 -- Stone Edge Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of complete back-office systems that power single and multi-channel online merchants, today announced that it continues to witness significant customer growth from small to mid-sized online merchants looking to automate their order management processes. As listed in MultiChannel Merchant magazine's April 2008 Order Management Software (OMS) Round-Up, Stone Edge leads the field with an installed base growth rate of 33 percent from 2007 to 2008. According to the report, the nearest competitor grew its base by only three percent. Stone Edge remains on track to double its total installed count by the close of 2008.
"We are seeing a significant increase in our user base, with growth coming from two key trends," said Barney Stone, president of Stone Edge Technologies. "First, the Stone Edge Order Manager is designed and priced for the smaller companies that make up a large segment of the ecommerce market - typically companies shipping 10 to several hundred orders per day. And second, the Order Manager platform easily scales as a merchant's customer, product and order levels increase. The Enterprise Version of the Order Manager is an attractive option for larger companies - those shipping up to several thousand orders per day - or with larger numbers of users or the need to integrate the Order Manager with their legacy systems. The installed base for the Enterprise Version has more than doubled in the last 12 months."

Stone Edge appears in MultiChannel Merchant magazine's annual "Software Round-Up," summarizing and comparing order management solutions for the direct commerce industry. Ernie Schell, director of Ventnor, New Jersey-based consultancy Marketing Systems Analysis, a firm that helps clients specify, select and implement integrated order management systems, produces the report. "This listing has become a key resource for merchants comparing and preparing to invest in order management systems," says Schell. "We are careful to include only those systems that are able to support direct commerce order management and fulfillment. There are a lot of solutions that don't make it into the round-up either because they really don't fit into the direct commerce space, or lack essential functionality."

The Stone Edge Order Manager
The Stone Edge Order Manager provides customer, inventory and order management tools for Web, point-of-sale and traditional mail order businesses. It is compatible with more than 40 shopping carts, including those from Yahoo, Miva, Shopsite, osCommerce, Network Solutions and Volusion, plus sales channels including Amazon, eBay and Shop.com. The Order Manager can import and processes orders from multiple sales channels into a single database, allowing a merchant to handle all orders, purchasing, packing and shipping and customer support in a single system. The program tracks the source of each order, and retains the branding used on each site when sending emails to customers and when printing invoices and packing slips.

The Stone Edge Order Manager is available in Standard, Plus POS and Enterprise Versions. The Plus POS and Enterprise versions include a point-of-sale system that can act as a virtual cash register for merchants with "brick and mortar" retail stores. More than 2,000 ecommerce merchants rely on the Stone Edge Order Manager to help run their businesses more efficiently.

"The online commerce market remains a bright spot for many merchants, and we are pleased to know that our newest upgrades, an enterprise-level solution with support for Microsoft SQL Server, plus compatibility with more than 40 shopping carts, are helping more and more merchants improve their operations," said Stone. "Having the expertise and ability to serve small to mid-sized online merchants is the goal of our company."

Stone Edge has published a complimentary decision brief entitled Factors to Consider When Choosing an Order Management System. It is available for download at www.StoneEdge.com.
