) August 14, 2009 -- Recently, more than 100 marketing professionals were asked which social media tool they thought would be the first to become irrelevant.

The poll was conducted by the 60 Second Marketer (http://www.60secondmarketer.com), an online magazine visited by thousands of marketers each month from around the globe.

Respondents to the poll were given five choices for the “first social media tool to become irrelevant.” The choices were MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. The prediction? MySpace would be the first to go, according to 51 percent of respondents. Twitter was next in line for a forecasted decreased popularity, receiving 35 percent of the votes.
