NCast Announces the Telepresenter M4

) February 13, 2009 -- NCast® Corporation, the founder of Telepresentation technology, today announced the Telepresenter® M4, a high resolution video and graphics encoder utilizing industry-standard H.264 technology for live streaming or presentation capture and archiving. Higher than hi-def, the 1920x1200 capabilities of the M4 allow for universal playback using Flash®, Quicktime®, Silverlight® and other technologies that support the H.264 standard.

"The industry has now converged onto one universal standard for content encoding and playback", says Jeanne Schmitt, VP of Marketing at NCast. "The use of MPEG-4 with H.264 is both highly efficient in terms of bandwidth utilization and delivers quality imagery across many different platforms, from desktop and laptop players to portable devices such as iPods and other media players. Content producers and consumers will no longer have to support multiple formats with the associated costs and complexity. This will accelerate the use of streamed and archived video on the internet."

The Telepresenter M4 adds post-session transcoding to multiple formats, real-time closedcaption and chaptering commands, dynamic text overlays, enhanced channel presets, configuration save & restore and secure file upload to the product line.

In support of the M4, a new version of the NWay® Streaming Server is being introduced which will enable live and archived streaming with Flash media players, the most widely available players in the industry today. With the nearly universal deployment of these players, any Windows desktop will play the Telepresenter generated content without any additional software downloads or installations.
