Walking, I see a rose, and I think of my home
Oh, that's nothing, I am glad you like them.
Perhaps a balmy evening in a faraway place, somewhere called the Orient before the advent of political correctness, inspired such genius. Or was it the years of living like a nomad in exile? Either way, Marjan Ossanlou's jewelry creations are so breathtaking that they quickly sweep you away to the land of turquoise, saffron and rose petals. Her pieces are so elegant and chic. How does she do it with so much grace? Are these necklaces, earrings and charm bracelets, or, foot steps of a talented artist yearning for those warm evenings, walking toward that land? So many questions unanswered and yet, each of her pieces is an answer to all those faraway dreams.
When Moojoo Ken saw Marjan at the now famous Fashion Fights Poverty event, it was not the beauty, creativity or the ingenuity of her jewelry, nor was it Marjan's charming demeanor that made it fall in love with La Caspienne jewelry. It was the magic , the intangible air that surrounded Marjan and her beautiful creations. All the pieces whether in coral, turquoise or pearl spoke in an ancient tongue, yet the modernity of each piece made them very familiar. Moojoo Ken arranged to meet with her and, before long, a new collection of magical pieces adorned with the Moojoo Ken emblem were gracing the walls of the small design house.
Marjan is very modest about her creations like she is about everything else. And when swooning over her jewelry, she simply replies, "Oh, that's nothing, I am glad you like them." Like them? "We are mad about them!" Her pieces are not to be described, explained or even written about. They are to be seen, touched and worn. That is the only way to do justice to them...by wearing them. And by doing so, you will be taken away to that faraway land of warm nights, turquoise skies and saffron dreams, with a few rose petals strewn to guide the way.
