Kayxo Launches a New Google Search Appliance Connector for Exchange: Kayxo Exchange Appliance Connector (KEAC)

) June 17, 2009 -- The New Kayxo Exchange Appliance Connector (KEAC) takes advantage of the corporate search power of the Google Search Appliance (GSA) and selectively unlocks the content stored in Microsoft Exchange.

KEAC Screen Shot

Since Kayxo Exchange Appliance Connector uses MAPI (the same protocol MS Outlook uses to communicate with Exchange), all the objects and their information are available to be retrieved on demand, using the fastest access method to the Exchange Server and bringing a complete set of information not accessible through other methods (CDO, WebDav, MS Exchange 2007 Web Services). This also allows KEAC to access your company's information without the need of installing any agent on the Exchange Server or duplicating data into a second "searchable" repository.

What's new in Kayxo Exchange Appliance Connector V 1.0

  • Add Search Capabilities to find Exchange information: Search, browse, open and save any kind of Exchange objects enriching your usual search through the same GSA interface.
  • Honor MS Exchange Security Policies: Only users with the proper permissions could search and view in their results private exchange items across different mailboxes. These permissions are directly taken from MS Exchange in real time, so they are always up to date and do not add any additional administrative task. Content declared as Public will always be available for the whole organization.
  • Easy and Friendly Configuration Consoles and Non-intrusive Installation: The setup does not install software in your Exchange server, it only uses an Outlook-like client connection to collect information. All the configuration is performed through graphical consoles.
  • Multilanguage mailboxes support: Full support for mailboxes in any language.

Key Benefits

  • Mash information already available from ECM systems, CRMs and others with existing valuable information stored in MS Exchange using the existing GSA search interface, ranked according to GSA relevance criteria.
  • Share communication information within the company and make it available seamlessly to the right people. It doesn't matter if the document the user is searching is stored in Sharepoint, the CRM, the ECM system or lost in an e-mail: it will be found through a single search.
  • Honor the Microsoft Exchange's sharing policies or other Company policies. This means: only if you have permission to see it you will find it through the Google Search Appliance. If you don't have permission to see it, it will not appear in search results.
  • Increase the value of the investment made in the Enterprise Search Platform.

About the Architecture:
The Kayxo Exchange Appliance Connector will continuously gather information from the MS Exchange Server on the Mailboxes and object types according to its configuration (mails, appointments, contacts, etc.) and provide it to the Google Search Appliance for indexing purposes. These green lines show how this information flows without any user intervention.

This indexing service of KEAC can be stopped and resumed at any moment, just like an Outlook client is synchronized with the Exchange Server.
