Content is easily shareable via social media utilities such as Facebook and Twitter, and readers can make donations quickly and securely via the site, as well as sign up for email updates.

Established in 1980, Orr Shalom cares for 1,300 children-at-risk from birth through 18+ year of age in a variety of frameworks, including foster programs, therapeutic family group homes, adolescent girls' homes, intensive care facilities, and emergency foster homes. Orr Shalom gives the children in its care a loving home and helps them overcome their past, break the cycle of violence and also provides them with the tools to grow into productive, independent adults. In 2004, Orr Shalom was awarded the government's tender for foster in Israel's central region, making it the largest non-profit organization in Israel caring for at-risk children and youth who have been removed from their homes.

Anat Dunowicz, Orr Shalom's Executive Director, said: "We are extremely proud of our professional and dedicated work caring for Israel's children-at-risk who have been removed from their homes due to severe abuse and/or neglect. This website is one more way that we can provide information about our work, recruit new foster families, house parents and volunteers and raise much-needed funds for the children in our care".

These children are particularly vulnerable, as they were hurt by the very people they are meant to trust – their family or people they know. Since 1980, Orr Shalom has steadily expanded its network of care to ease the plight of Israeli children at risk, helping them overcome their past, break the cycle of violence and grow into productive, independent adults.

Orr Shalom currently cares for 1,300 children from birth through 18+ years of age in a wide range of multifaceted programs that provide caring, professional, one-on-one treatment. Orr Shalom maintains the highest quality of expert care to ensure that each child receives the attention, therapy, and enrichment s/he needs to thrive.
