The integration marks the first deployment of a text to speech Web service with an online content storage and collaboration platform. iSpeech brings text to speech to over 50,000 businesses currently using Box.net. Business and people can now have instant audio access to any document containing text. The resulting audio files can be used to help employees or students absorb information faster and more effectively, even during their commute.

"People save time by listening to audio books on an iPod anywhere. Now they can listen to any document they choose on Box.net," says Heath Ahrens, CEO of iSpeech.org. "iSpeech's premium voices are so natural, it's like having a personal narrator. Making text to speech this easy is also a big win for accessibility."

"iSpeech's text-to-speech functionality changes what business customers can do with documents on Box," says Jeremy Glassenberg, Platform Manager for Box.net. "It's a unique addition to our collection of OpenBox services and I think people will find a lot of creative uses for it, especially those who want to be more productive on-the-go."

iSpeech.org usage and pricing:
iSpeech usage is available in various packages ranging from a free ad-supported voice to the use of premium voices for $7.85 per month. Customers are able to try premium voices free for 15 days. The resulting audio files can be downloaded as MP3s, podcasted to iTunes, or embedded.
