Influxis Offers Online TVStation with YouTube Video Integration

) September 15, 2008 -- Influxis, an Adobe partner and Flash Media Server 3 hosting specialist, announced today it has released version 1.8 of the TVStation application. This latest release of TVStation now includes a Flex environment with several enhanced features and allows for scheduling of YouTube video clips.

The growing popularity of the TVStation application is due to its wide range of functionality. The application was first released in the summer of 2007, and with client feedback and advancements in development, it went from simply scheduling Flash video files, audio and images to being able to stream live video broadcast, chat, video-on-demand thumbnail lists, detailed usage reporting, recurrence scheduling, and now the ability to play YouTube videos as well.

"TVStation takes full advantage of the interactive side of Adobe Flash Media Interactive Server," says Richard Blakely, CEO of Influxis. "This essentially gives our customers their own 'video space' and really allows for publishers to interact with their audience in a very unique way."

With the YouTube integration, single videos or entire playlists from YouTube can now be uploaded to the TVStation application. "The primary benefits of using YouTube videos with our TVSTation application is the publisher has instant access to YouTube's vast library of video content while allowing them to schedule the exact time and day when they want their videos played," says Blakely. "The trade-off is that the YouTube logo must appear and videos are progressively downloaded versus streamed over RTMP."
TV Station 1.8 allows users to broadcast a personalized 24/7 internet TV station using the latest features of Adobe Flash Media Server 3 including superior security with RTMPE (real-time messaging protocol encryption) and HD quality video. It also allows for streaming all h.264 encoded media including MPEG's.

With the TVStation application, Influxis clients can program their own online TV station with a mixture of any video, audio or image content, YouTube video clips, and recorded or live webcam streaming in a television-like scheduled broadcast. In addition, each video can be set to display any background image and display a link to any webpage of choice.

The end users experience a simultaneous streaming broadcast with real-time chat and a thumbnail playlist with on-demand functionality. The new Flex environment shows three panels, one for each element - the video player, the thumbnail playlist, and the chat window - all of which can be re-sized, expanded or closed off by the end-user.

Since the 1.8 version is built within a Flex framework developers can customize, skin and brand the end user interface by modifying the Flex CSS files which Influxis includes with the file download.

Uses for the TV Station application include broadcasting commercials, movie previews, television shows, music videos, special interests, radio stations, sermons, live lectures, in-depth product presentation, or even modifying the player to become a streaming advertising banner as explained on the Influxis Labs blog.

TVStation 1.8 is one of a growing library of turnkey plug-and-play Flash applications which are offered with all Influxis Adobe Flash Media Server 3 hosting accounts. Try it live on the Influxis website at www.influxis.com.
