) September 15, 2008 -- Six out of ten American teens witness bullying at least once daily, according to the National Crime Prevention Council, an alarming statistic for parents everywhere. That's why bullying prevention is so important.

In recognition of the Third Annual National Bullying Prevention Awareness Week, Oct. 5-11, 2008 PACER invites bloggers nationwide to work together to increase awareness of the prevalence and impact of bullying on all children.

The week is sponsored by PACER's National Center for Bullying Prevention and cosponsored by the American Federation for Teachers, National Coalition for Parent Involvement in Education, National Education Association, National PTA and School Social Work Association of America.

Bloggers are encouraged to partner with PACER to prevent bullying by sharing a blog post on bullying prevention stories, tips and related content focused on the prevention of bullying. All bloggers who contact bullying411@PACER.org and submit a link to their post on bullying will receive a link on PACER's bullying prevention Web site at http://PACER.org

Activities and materials such as tips, toolkits and online bullying prevention training are available on http://PACER.org, and bloggers are encouraged to use any of the available content there to spread awareness.
